We ran outside to see it and a second rainbow appeared right in front of our eyes!

Ordinary Days
We've had another hectic week of work and juggling, but on Saturday evening all is well with the Jones family. Tuesday evening the KCorp folks took Rob & I out for a wonderful dinner at Simon Pearce as a thank you for our hard work on a software conversion project that went "live" this week (from the buttercup squash to creme brulee for dessert every bite was a delicious treat)! My part of the work wasn't nearly as hard as Rob's. Between this software conversion project, the wireless project & phone system problems he has logged an unbelievable amount of hours in the past month. I feel bad for him, but he never complains. I hope he'll be able to take the time he needs to hire a support person in the coming weeks. He does have some good candidates. My work on the conversion was behind the scenes extracting all of their data so they could import it into the new software. It was fun and all done from home in the evenings. I'll repeat the same process to extract data for each of the other communities over the next few months. At my day job, my project has finally kicked off with a vendor contract signed. I couldn't be happier with my work there. I love it.On to more interesting things... the cute little boys in our family: Brady is talking up a storm these days and has started calling Cooper by his full name at certain times..... like when he really means business! It is the funniest thing to hear the way he proclaims things. He can be a bossy little guy! Out of the blue, he had an upset stomach on Friday. Cooper said that it was "lucky Brady got sick so we could have an extra stay home day." Brady seemed just fine by the time we got home and hasn't had any more troubles, but he is still coughing a lot so maybe the post nasal drip & coughing just made his stomach sick. He'll have his 2 year check-up next week! Not sure yet if we'll have a little party for him, but we'll surely do something special. His favorite things in the world right now, besides Cooper & Mommy & Daddy, are Trains, Dinosaurs, and the Backyardigans.... I guess I should add pink milk and meat to that list of favorites, too. He eats any and all meat, but except for things straight from the garden, I can hardly get him to eat veggies.... I have to trick him by covering them in meat! Cooper puts up with a LOT from him, and seems pretty tolerant most days, but it is getting harder now that they both want to play with the exact same things. Cooper's favorite things are dinosaurs, cars, and trains. Cooper amazes me every day with his thoughtful observations, memories of things I've forgotten, and his sweet little nature. One day this week, I was telling him how "precious" he is, and he told me, "Mommy, you're a blast of precious." Another day this week, we had a 10 minute conversation about cars passing on double solid yellow lines (after a car passed us when Cooper knew it shouldn't have). Since Cooper started trying to tell me how to drive at about 18 months ("go that way," "red light"), he has always been interested in road signs and driving rules. I swear he could pass his permit test now if I read it too him. He tells me what road signs, flashing yellow or red lights means and now that he knows what all the stripes on the road mean..... I guess I better keep the keys up high or he'll be the one going for a test drive!
Well, thank you for spending this time with me. Rob was at work tonight for a computer emergency, but he is home safely now and I should get off the computer!

A Cooper Story - My little gentleman
When I worked at Kendal, a certain group of residents would wait for my "Cooper Story of the Day." I miss sharing Cooper's antics and accomplishments with them and have a little story today that would be worthy of being the "story of the day."
Earlier tonight I was praising Cooper for using particularly nice manners (it was even at a time I really wasn't expecting such nice manners). His response to me was, "That is what gentlemans do."

Brady & Mommy Sick Time
Even when he is sick, this sweet little guy is such a joy to be around. Cooper, Brady & Rob have all had colds for the past 3 weeks, but I'd managed not to come down with it until this week. Tuesday afternoon Brady had a low fever & was miserable in daycare. So on Wednesday I took him to the doctor and found out he has his first ear infection. We've now had 1 1/2 days at home together, and it's funny to think that staying home sick can be so enjoyable. In between blowing our noses, we've played with a lot of trains & cars, napped together, and snuggled on the couch watching his favorite shows. I'm managing work emails & issues from here, but they seem to be very understanding about sick time....another blessing. Maybe they just don't want my germs at the hospital - go figure!
This pictures was taken a few days ago... before Brady's ear infection set in and before I was sick, too.

Toilet Paper
Rob was away golfing this weekend and I decided, for the first time, to let Brady play while I took a shower instead of buckling him into his seat with some cheerios or bringing him into the shower with me. He seized the opportunity to do something he has wanted to do for a long time....unroll all of the toilet paper. He seemed to be enjoying it so much that I decided to make it a photo 'op' instead of getting upset with him. Hope he doesn't think that I thought it was cute and do it again! We'll see.
